About

Barry and I love to travel.  Pico Iyer expresses his love of traveling in a way we completely understand:

  • “We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed.”

Our blog is a way to share our experiences with you.   Enjoy, Renée

I have lost your email address! Thank goodness I found your blog! What’s your email address? Will you go to Bali or where at Xmas? You were trying to decide when I visited. I am home now.

Hi Rene and Barry, We are sitting here on this warm Florida Christmas Day reading about all your Chinese adventures. We on the other hand are dreaming of slippery slopes and walks in the quiet peaceful woods with Breckie. So glad you are enjoying your experience. Where are you today and for how long?
We plan to be going on short trip to San Fran and then onto Breck for the Snow Sculpture event with our Team Mexico. By the way two Chinese teams have entered the competition.
We enjoy your emails very much its almost like taking a trip without leaving home.
John doing well on his own?

Enjoy Have fun Happy New Western New Year Aloha
    Love you guys
    Fran and Roy

Very nice blog! I love the photos and the perspective you have.

Meanwhile, I just arrived in Maui last Thanksgiving in time for the interview. So glad to be able to speak Mandarin regularly with my mom and sister who have been living on the island for many years. I started a new blog for newcomers.

Hi Anne: I checked out your blog that gives your good insights about coming to live on Maui. Enjoy the weather there for me. Two days ago, it was 95 degrees; today I’m wearing two sweaters and wool socks!! I hope to meet you in the future. Aloha, Renee
